THE SECRET TO SUCCESS is brought about by good habits.

Aristotle once said, 
" We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit."

We are creatures of habit.  How we think, say and do  is a result of deep-seated habits.  Habits are powerful part of life. Research has shown that approximately 45% of everything we do on a daily basis is driven by our habits.  

WHAT ARE THE BEST HABITS TO HAVE IN LIFE? 


EAT BREAKFAST / MORNING ROUTINE

Research shows that people who consume breakfast have less health risks. This single habit doesn't take much effort.  Some planning is necessary.

Eating breakfast gives you an energy boost to start the day and helps you be more focused and productive.  Breakfast jump starts your metabolism which tends to slowdown while you sleep. 


A person has better self-control and greater willpower just after waking up. Take advantage of this early morning productivity.  Putting yourself in a positive mindset and prioritizing your day is all about having some good habits and sets the tone for your day.  



SLEEP WELL


Sleep is vital to good health and your mental and emotional well-being.  Get between 6-8 hours of sleep per night.  Long-term research studies show that people who get significantly less than 6 hours a night die younger.  Adequate sleep improves memory, learning, and logical reasoning.  



EXERCISE


Exercise helps control weight, maintains healthy bones, joints and muscles. Movement reduces health risks such as stroke, diabetes and high blood pressure. Exercise oxygenates your blood and boost the endorphins in your body.  Not only will you feel physically better when you start this habit, you'll also feel more motivated, have more mental clarity and be more emotionally sound.  



SOCIAL CONNECTION


Whether joining a gym, going to church, volunteering or joining a social group - surround yourself with other people.  Group activities keep the mind active. Be kind to others and practice gratitude.



SNACK WISELY


Choose your foods wisely. Are you getting your AHA (American Heart Association) Recommendation of  5 or more fruits and vegetables? 



HAVE A PLAN/VISION


Planning is an essential aspect of the habits that go in to your daily life.  Ex. Healthy social interactions, health teeth and being fit all are the results of good planning.  These habits take effort that needs to be in your schedule. Make room in your bust schedule. 



HAVE A HOBBY 


Hobbies help us relax, recover and are usually enjoyable.  Taking part in hobbies keep you from just sitting in front of the television.
